Upon the request of the passenger paying a fare, the driver of a taxicab shall give the passenger a receipt showing, in legible type or writing, the name of the driver, the number of the taximeter, the number of the taxicab and a statement of all items for which a charge is made, the total amount paid and the date of payment.
