The Civil Service Commission shall control all examinations. With advice from the Police Chief, Fire Chief, technical advisor and City Attorney, or their respective designees, the commission shall provide uniform rules with respect thereto, and shall hold such examinations as are necessary for the purpose of determining the qualifications and fitness of applicants for positions on the Police and Fire Departments. All such examinations shall be practical and shall fairly test the fitness of applicants to discharge the position to which they seek to be appointed. No questions shall relate to religious faith or party affiliations. (Ord. 20206 §§ 28, 86, 9-10-19.)
