The Chief of the Fire Department or the Chief of the Police Department, whoever is applicable, shall immediately notify the Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission whenever a vacancy exists in any department, when the vacant position is one that may be filled by appointment only from the applicants examined by the Civil Service Commission.
