All sworn employees of the Fire Department, excepting the Chief of such department, shall be retired from employment in the department no later than the last day of the quarter within which they attain the age of 60 years, except that any current employees of the department who attained the age of 60 years between September 18, 2019, and June 30, 2022, shall have until September 30, 2022, to retire.
