(a) There is hereby created a Police Department equipment fund. The fund is established for the purpose of providing a depository for moneys to be used for Police Department equipment purchases.

(b) Moneys from the City’s general fund, Municipal Court fees, or funds from any other source legally available for such purpose may be credited to this special fund.

(c) Expenditures from this fund shall be approved by resolution adopted by the City Council. The expenditures from this fund shall only be used to offset planned equipment acquisitions for the Police Department, i.e., expenditures shall not be used to enhance equipment for the Police Department, but shall primarily be used to replace existing equipment.
