The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

“Business premises” or “premises” means the area of the salvage yard as described in the application for permit.

“Junk” means old or scrap copper, brass, rope, rags, batteries, paper, trash, rubber debris, waste, or junked, dismantled or wrecked automobiles, or parts thereof, or iron, steel and other old or scrap ferrous or nonferrous material.

“Salvage yard” means an establishment which is maintained, operated or used for storing, keeping, buying or selling junk. (Code 1981 § 38-99. Code 1995 § 114-151.)
