(a) License required. It shall be unlawful for any person to conduct, carry on or engage in the business of commercial or residential construction or remodeling, excavation, elevator repair or construction, concrete work, demolition, swimming pool construction, roofing, fire alarm installation, fire sprinkler installation, water softener/conditioner, lawn irrigation system installation or mechanical, electrical or plumbing trades, without first obtaining the appropriate contractor’s license.

(b) Water softener/conditioner additional authorized work. Individuals licensed in the water softener/conditioner trade may install water softening/conditioning appliances and connect the appliances to the potable water supply lines. Licensees may install up to 10 feet of pipe horizontally for each connection in addition to installing pipe in a vertical drop to the appliance. Piping from the water softener/conditioning appliance to any fixture shall be installed by a licensed plumbing contractor. (Ord. 20257 § 53, 8-18-20.)
